How far can I push an HT1250?

Hi all,

I have an HT1250 403-470. Would the radio, after CPS modifications as needed, be able to receive frequencies in the 478 range? It would be great if I could use it to listen to the local PD (TX Inhibit, of course) and be able to use the local repeaters on the same unit...

Thanks all!

It will probably be OK to 478, but you're getting to the edge of where the preselector will start causing you problems, and your results may vary per unit (some might work, some might not).

IIRC HT1250 band splits are hard coded in the firmware and cannot be modified using CPS hex edit.

Band limits have been hacked and taken out of band, but no one has publically shared it. I've seen a couple. This would be great for the lowband users. (No, I don't have the hack, but I wish I did)
