i dont know much about the cm200 but i bought one at a pawn shop today anyway. it is a 25 watt vhf version.
how hard is it to put in the top end of the 2 meter band. it was on the shelf listed as a cb.
that is what i was able to find and that will work for me. i have not been to find much on it though. is it that new a radio?
it is currently programmed as a public service radio with the local sheriffs dept and at least one fire dept. dispatch.
another question i have is about the channels. it is a four channel and that is all i can find on this model. is there a mod yet or is it set.
thanks again
paul
Fist off, I'd be very leery of a radio found in a pawn shop with public safety frequencies in it. Chances are, it came from one of those agencies & not by legal means. Just to be safe & make sure it's on the up & up, you should check with your local PD & see about it...wouldn't hurt to ask, for sure.
As far as channels, 4 is what you're stuck with for that model. The CM series is still a current production radio & has been around for probably 6 years or so.
No trees were harmed in the posting of this message...however an extraordinarily large number of electrons were horribly inconvenienced.
well i was planning on talking to a firefighter i know and ask if anyone he knows had one go missing. i was told that it was pawned by an older woman whose husband had passed and it was his. from the timeline of when it was pawned it could have been from the old fire chief who passed around that time. that towns fire dept. has been defunct since then. i will do some research and i do have a receipt from the shop i got it from with the serial number.
