I have some dust under the display of my XTS2500i, whats the easiest way to disassembly the radio (without the moto tool)?

Purchase the correct tool. It very easy to damage the housing.

underscore about 5 times what Jim said, the price of the correct plastic tool is much less than replacing the housing of the radio from boogering, trust me on this one. IIRC the cost on MOL was around 18.00, but this was about a year or so ago.

The XTS2500 tool is different than the XTS3000/XTS5000 series portable

The metal XTS2500 tool is 6685666D01 @ $3.89 list
(I also see this same metal tool on eBay, for $18.99 plus shipping!)

The plastic XTS 3K/5K tool is 6685833D01 @ $4.20 list.

Way cheaper than a new front face!

Hit up Jeff (escomm), he should be able to get you what you need.

There are some wonderfully written disassembly instructions for the 3000 and 5000 but has anyone published the same for the 2500?
