Can a GTR8000 repeater function in analog mode, or is it a digital only product?

According to the spec sheet, only digital is supported in all bands. Does C4FM or LSM (linear simulcast modulation).

I can confirm the GTR 8000 is a digital-only product. As far as I know, it doesn't operate in anything except trunking environments. Could be wrong about the trunking-only thing, but I know they are digital only for a fact.

I believe the MTR 3000 is on the way, we'll see what that does.

MTR3000 is nothing more than MTR3000 with a field upgrade kit installed to enable MotoTRBO. You will be able to upgrade MTR2000s to MTR3000s for a handful of hundreds of dollars. I believe the MTR3000 will eventually be available on 800MHz but don't quote me on that

We talked with our regional Motorola sales folks the first of December on this topic and here is their update. A stand-alone GTR8000 capable of conventional operation is now available and on the price sheets as of 3rd quarter 2009. He also says that analog is being introduced because of NPSPAC mutual aid frequency requirements.

I've heard it's confirmed the stations already do Analog... When they first came out that was not the case.

I wonder if this means that they are now going to drop the axe on the Quantar...
