GP68 Programming Help

Hey Everyone,

I've tried searching for help with this issue but I haven't found anything yet. I just bought a Motorola GP68 and I want to listen to the frequency 155.310 but it will only let me enter in numbers starting with a 4.

Can someone please walk me through how to be able to input this setting? I'm brand new when it comes to these kinds of radios.

Thanks!

There are more than 400 GP68 posts on this Board, and many of them have to do with setting various
items in the GP68 menu. The one you need is the frequency step, and it needs to be set for 5 kHz,
because right now it looks as if it's set for something higher than that. Try searching with GP68 and
a term such as "programming" or "channel step" or "frequency step" and you'll eventually come up with
what you need. There are also references to sites with online manuals for this radio.

Sounds like you bought a UHF radio, which obviously will not work on VHF frequencies.

Bingo, sounds like exactly what it is.

Of course that's it. My bad. I used to have a couple of these and the FPP drove me nuts.

Me too. Not bad radios for medium duty applications but that FPP procedure is the pits. The JT1000 is so much easier.
Which reminds me to bring that GP68 to the Orlando HamCation (2/12-14) for those not familiar it's probably 1st runner up to Dayton.
