Hi Folks,

Was wondering if there is any way to display a received MDC ID # on a
Spectra. I can't find anything in the RSS to allow it to do so.

I have an X9000 that I replaced the EPROMs in so it gives a beep & displays
the number (no alias). Perhaps it's a similar thing?

Just figured I'd ask around.

ps: These are the 'original' Spectras, not an Astro Spectra.

The astro spectra will not display MDC IDs.

If you set up the radio for MDC it can decode and encode MDC Call alerts and pages.

I guess if the Astro Spectra can't do it, then the original
won't either.

I have already programmed it with the other stuff... was hoping
that there was someway to make it display.

Not quite. The Astro spectra can decode and display the ID, they just can't be aliased to alphanumeric names.
The astro spectra can also send/receive MDC Call alerts and pages.

Sans confusion

Spectra: will not decode /display MDC Id; will decode/encode MDC call alerts and MDC sel calls.

Astro Spectra: will display MDC Id; will decode/encode MDC call alerts and MDC sel calls.

What settings are needed in RSS/CPS to get the Astro Spectra to display MDC ID?

First you need h14 "digital id display" in your flashcode which means your flash will start with a 4 or 5 depending on whether you have IMBE or not. Then you need to go to the radio configuration, display and menu window in cps and then the ptt id tab. From there you can turn on and off ptt id display.
