Sending codeplugs via email...

I noted this interesting tidbit in the readme section of the newest CPS for the APX 7000. Thanks to Dave for posting.

- Sending codeplugs via email can cause corruption. Intermittently email
applications will corrupt the codeplug file and make the file unusable in the CPS.
To avoid this issue always zip your files before emailing them.

Might save some people a lot of trouble at times.

It's known issue. It happens not only with codeplugs, but also with other common files. I personally had seen this problem with vector graphics (.eps/.ai).

I have sent a ton of codeplugs and data files without zipping them up without issues unless I use MS Outlook. I have had a few issues with Outlook, but I try to avoid Outlook anyway due to the security issues MS seems to have more than anyone else.

Free file hosting sites like megaupload.com, rapidshare.com, and yousendit.com are a good alternative to direct email sending.
