Can't adjust squelch on MTX950

I mostly use PL but I have one channel that's carrier squelch. I thought it was set a little tight so I opened the tuner software and went to the 12.5 KHz settings. I loosened up, lowered the slider numbers a little, programmed them, and now the squelch won't close at all. I have even gone back in and programmed the settings to their highest settings with no difference. What did I do wrong? How do I fix it?

I discovered one thing that might shed some light. The squelch problem is only on Amateur frequencies. If I program a commercial frequency, the squelch operates normally.

I haven't figured out how to fix this but I know what caused it. After I entered Amateur frequencies, it worked OK until I tried to adjust the squelch settings with the tuner software. Something about the out of band frequencies caused the tuner to go nuts. I removed all the ham frequencies and programmed it back with commercial frequencies. Then, I ran the tuner again. When I re programmed the ham frequencies, no squelch. Once the tuner has screwed up the squelch, there doesn't seem to be any way to go back. My advice to anyone using an MTX950 or MTX9250 for ham use is to run the tuner before programming any ham frequencies. Afterward, NEVER adjust the squelch threshold.

Well, you gave such great detail on the problem...how about for the fix?

I thought he did a pretty good job explaining the fix here
