XTS2500 fine in Astro 25, not in Type II

Good Morning,

I am programming an XTS2500 Type II 800 MHz.

It is flashed for interoperability.

I have programmed in my local Motorola 7.4 system into the radio, and it is working great.

However, when I program in any Type II motorola system, it will not affiliate to the system.

I have checked the trunking systems to make sure everything is programmed correctly, and they are.

The IDs have all been validated as being good.

I have gone through the tuner and all checks out good.

Its the strangest thing.

I sent it off to motorola, and they sent it back stating they "updated the firmware" although it came back with ver 9, and I do believe we are on 10.

Anyways, if anyone has any ideas as to why it wouldnt allow me to affiliate to a type II system, but it would work fine with an Astro 25 7.4 system, I would be grateful.

It would help if you posted the entire flashcode, and the current Host/DSP firmware revisions.

I'm assuming that you can hear the control channel from where you are, and that another radio programmed on the system works correctly from your location. What symptoms does the radio display, if anything, e.g. OUT OF RANGE, or just a bonk on keyup?

Work with the system administrator, and have them examine the system console and see if your radio really is trying to affiliate or not. If they're seeing affiliation attempts, it may be something on the system end. If they're not, it's definitely on the radio end.

This is a long shot in the dark and probably not the problem but are you using CPS13 ?

If so have you checked the trunking/trunking configuration menu to see if REBANDING is turned of by cps13 ?

Akardam,

Certainly: 500018-00048C-5

DSP: 10

You are correct, I can hear the CC. I am not getting out of range, but I am bonking. I am sure the radio is not affiliating to the system, but (as with the lack of "out of range" I know it is hearing the CC.

Which leads to your statement "its definitely on the radio end" which makes sense...but mother moto has had this at depot and declared all is right in the world ;).

Mike,

I am using 13.00.01, and rebanding IS checked on the trunking configuration

No more thoughts over the weekend?

Its baffling me.

This customer purchased over 200 XTS2500 type II with that Flashcode, and this is the ONLY one with that problem. The rest work impeccably.

If you haven't tried it already, try a direct clone or a top level drag and drop from a known working unit into the radio in question..

Marc,

I appreciate the thought, but that was the first thing I tried.
