Trying to program P1225 radios using an aftermarket (Wiscomm http://www.wiscomm.com/productimages/300rbl.jpg) ribless DB9 serial to RJ45 adapter (works fine for M1225's) plugged into a double female RJ45 to cat 5 to a programming base made as shown on this site. Used an old charger and moved the contact. Cable connections ohm out good. RSS says no power to RIB...well there is no RIB...Can I apply power somewhere to make this setup work?

Oh...and the DB9 is plugged into a serial to USB adapter...and yes, it looks like a trainwreck...

First problem with your setup: most ribless cables do NOT have a RIB, which is required for that vintage radio. A proper adaptor will have the RIB enclosed in a battery case with the connection to the computer, and possibly leads for external power(+7.5V).
The programming uses the pins protruding from the chassis of the radio, somewhat like a GP300/P110.

Aftermarket is okay, but what you appear to have is a 'bastardization' of sorts from your description.

Too many people are pushing the 'ribless' cables for every radio on the market, and they are not all compatible with those radios.

I just viewed your 'Ribless' cable for the P1225, and no, it is for the mobiles only(if it indeed does work).

The P1225 programs far differently, of course. and a proper one will have a battery case adaptor with the RIB inside, as mentioned in my previous posting.

Just provide shipping to and from as well as a list of channels and bandwidth requirements, IE...12.5K or 20/25K channel spacing(narrow or wideband)
