My county is getting rid of 3 VHF MSR base stations, and I am planning the replace the IF crystals to go narrowband, and make them into repeaters. Without the COR card, is there an easy way to get this done? Also, does anyone have the schematics on the jumpers that need to be changed to make it a repeater, and to turn on the decode function of the PL board?

Excelent radios based on the Mitrek.
What model number(s) are these, Motorola had many versions and options available.

I'll grab those numbers today. BTW, I will have about 3 complete units for free if anyone wants them. Just pay to get them packed and shipped from MT.

The MSR2000 base stations are not full duplex stations. They have an antenna switch that switches from receive to transmit when ptt is enabled. There is only one antenna port on the radio, thus making it half duplex. I had two base stations wireline controlled by a spectra-tac voting comparator once, and that was an effective repeater. One radio's receive fed into the comparator's signal quality module while the comparator would key the second base via tone keying module. I had a pile of MSR2000 base and repeaters, now I am down to just one repeater and one base. Very dependable radios.

Also: The MSR base station PL card has only one PL reed. If you wish to use a PL tone, just plug in the appropriate reed.
