XTS2500 Menu Delays

I have an XTS2500 Model III From panter88 (not a 123ABC1234) with FPP in the 450-520MHz with a whore flashcode
HOST: R!2
DSP: R12
VOCON: 8M
Now whenever I change channels, whether it be via the softkey menus, the channel knob, or presets via 1,2,3 keys it takes about 4 seconds for the IP icon, and the radio alias to reappear. Is there something wrong here, or is this normal? What could be causing this? My friend gatekeep has the exact same radio (minus 2 digits in the serial #) and his does not do this. The only difference between our two radios is the MDC iDs, and he uses an aftermarket battery while I use an OEM IMPRES. (I tried another battery, and that doesn't make a difference anyway) Please let me know your thoughts on this, as I am a little concerned that my $650 radio is behaving in a way that it probably shouldn't.
