Hello, the rear plate of my GP 380 says "VER.NO:R05.06.03".

It can't be the firmware version because the latest is R03.12.03 !

So : 1 what is it ?? And 2 : how can I know my firmware version ?

Thanks.

1. It is firmware version for Professional radio - GP338,HT1250,GP140...
2. In Professional GP300/GM300 series CPS there is ComTool.exe. Use it or read with CPS.

ComTool.exe doesn't works because radio says "codeplug error"...

GP380 firmwares are for EMEA (R03.xx.xx) and AZ market too (R05.xx.xx).Different CPS needed.
If your radio doesn't have 'CE' sticker, then it should be coming from asian market.

No. Asian radios have other names. GP380 only for EMEA market.

It have been re-flashed with MDC firmware (like is in HT1250).

Now it can't be called GP380, because GP380 uses Select V signaling, own CPS, has different codeplug structure, differences in alignment parameters & etc.

@ bup3

I program with CPS R03.08.03, it works.
AZ market : you mean Asian market ?
Yes it comes from Asian market and hasn't 'CE' sticker.

@ MotoFAN

It is called GP 380, I don't know why.
Why doesn't can it called GP 380 ?
I know it works with select V signalling.

Do somebody knows where I can find a correct codeplug for it ?

Comes from eBay?

Approximately from summer 2009 eBay is full of China GP380 radios. Such radios from most GP380 eBay sellers (for e.g. g8hkshop, digital_come06, super_bonny88 and nav-tv) are parts built. Not just parts built – they use fake case, fake stickers, fake keyboard, fake rear buttons & other plastic & rubber parts. It comes with fake battery, fake clip and photocopy of manual (for Asian market radios, not for EMEA GP380!). These radios build on genuine Motorola PCB, but it's old, strongly used and most cases been repaired - for e.g. have replaced Vol/Ch rotators.

Look at this picture:

These guys ask from $140 to $300 for this «98% new» radio. Be careful and don’t buy this :o!

Thank you for the info ! So, the question is :

1 it is possible to flash it in the normal way,

2 is there a codeplug who will work on this (because codeplug error) ?

Hi,

I believe somebody has changed the front cover of this radio. Mainboard of your radio should be GP339 (asian version, 255 channels and has 5-Tone signalling). It is equivalent with only GP380. HT1250 is equivalent with GP338 because they have only 128 channels and without 5-tone signalling.

I also checked CPS R03.08.03 (PMVN4040P 5 Tone Professional Radios CPS (Disk)Version:R03.08.03) programming software which you manage to program your radio and it belongs to GP329 and GP339 5-Tone radios.

BR,
