Astro Saber Batt and AVA

Post by JerryS »

I need to know what battery to use for my radio to go in to a AVA/SVS .
The one that I have now will not let the radio sit in the AVA the right way. It sits to high and will not line up with the charging fingers.
Also I need to know the pin out for the 4 pin connector. I need to know what pin is what.

Thanks
JerryS

I use a NTN4593 its a shorter 1200MA battery and it fits fine. The pinout is Pin1 RED(12v+) 2 Black( ground) 3 yellow ( switched 12v+) 4 green ( back light usually hooked up to headlight circut)

I have the parts list but for some reason the exploded view is blank on my manual as well.

I just ordered the detailed Service manual. That was the only way that I could get a copy of it

Came across this old post of yours. Could you tell me if the pinout goes from left to right when looking directly at the rear of the AVA? My vision doesn't allow me to see the number on the connector.

Thanks

The easy way to tell is to pull out your multimeter, and check continuity between the connector and the shell of the RF connector to locate the ground pin.
