Hello all!

I have a quick question?

I have a 32 Channel Maxtrac, and was wanting to see if it is possible to covert it to a 64 Channel.

I was wanting to program it like my 64 Channel Syntor X-9000

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

No.
Unfortunately the Maxtrac, Radius and GM300's were all limited to 32 ch.
Not enuf memory space for the codeplug data.
Some people have hacked the radio and managed to get around 40 channels, but after that, parameters set for the highest channel start to corrupt the first channel or two.
The only exception I have ever seen or heard of is the 99 ch VHF low-band made for Ontario Hydro.
The trusty Maxtrac is a great radio, but pretty much 32 is all you get.

I was wanting to install in my truck, but didn't really want to install a big bulky Syntor X-9000 or Maratrac.

Wanted to keep the size limited to the size of my 45 watt Spectras.

Then install a Spectra. It's about the only thing that will do what you want. Or an MCX1000. the MCX1000 will do >16 channel scan. The Spectra won't.

Actually, I am not sure on how many people saw my original thread, but if you want to use your spectras to scan more than 16 channels, just click on the links in my signature to tell you how to do it.

I have done it with mine and it works great.

Not sure if that is exactly what you want to be able to do, but just wanted to "update" that piece of information!
