from the CPS_README.doc in the CPS folder download straight from MOL:

System Requirements:
--------------------
Operating Systems: Windows NT 4.0 (SP 6a or higher),
Windows 2000
Windows XP Home Edition (See Note)
Windows XP Professional (See Note)
Vista (32-bit) Home Premium (SP 1 or higher)
Vista (32-bit) Business (SP 1 or higher)
Note: XP upgrade or Vista upgrade from other operating
systems is not supported if the CPS was previously
installed on the old operating system.
Windows ME and Windows 98 are no longer supported.
You may choose to proceed with the installation, but
some features might not be functioning properly.
Upgrading the operating system is highly recommended.

Thanks Erik. A friend has a computer for sale, but I'll install Windows XP in it. MTS is working great. Thanks again. GARY N4KVE

I've ran Astro Saber/XTS3000 on a 98SE machine, had some issues getting reliable reads. Like Ma M says, you're on your own if you get it to work.
Good to hear about the MTS2000, that particular one has a really hot front end.

I too, have had Tuner running on 98SE, as well as CPS, in fact, CPS works great and flawless, not so muich with Tuner.

R05.02 here as well.

Mynet machine is the HP TX2-1270us touchsmart, but loaded with *ugghh* Vista, but all the GUIs work, although NO iteration of CPS tuner for the XTS3K nor Astro 25(CPS/Tuner) work(expected).

I still find I can run older software that I thought was incompatible(with Vista).

USB2x is great, but I wish the newer machines left a real serial port AND a PCMCIA slot in place as well.

Now I have to use dongles to read CF cards...I thought I was far away from dongles when I switched from Crapples like the Mac SE series.

Dongles: more RF gets in and stays there.

I finally found the reason for Astro Tuner to NOT work under Win98SE.

The software loaded the tuner .EXE file onto my 'D' drive, which is a PCMCIA CF card.

I looked in the properties folder and noticed the error, but I had to remove the software and do a fresh re-install in step by step fashion.

In both instances in properties, the target and 'start in' location must be the same(in my case it had to be).

Restart the program, and Tuner works just fine.
