I am trying to identify an MCS2000 radio. I am pretty sure it is a 900MHz. It has no model number but has some other numbers: FUF1642A 623SVS0058 version: R1AA5AR4 (First digit may be a B or an R). I would also like to know which software is used for this. I tried to read it with both version 4 and version 5 MCS but it it wont read. The MCS is new territory for me.

The MCS2000 900 Mhz radios would have model numbers such as the following: M01WGL4PW4_N (12W Model I) or M01WJL4PW4_N (30W Model I). It's the "W" in the model number that indicates you have a 900 Mhz radio.
For programming, you may need a version of MCS CPS such as R02.01.00 rather than the RSS that you are trying to use. You can then read the model number of the radio.

I know to look for something with M01......., but their is no tag/label on it like their most other radios. I have various versions of the CPS. I will try the 2.01.00

Is there a keypad test mode for the MCS line? That would help here, but I've never heard of one and pressing all of the buttons on a Model 1 5 times after power-up doesn't do it.
FYI, the current CPS version is 02.03.00.

On my Model II's and III's it does... Pressing MON 5 times immediately after power up.

Well, it looks like I spoke too soon anyway. The Phone (middle bottom) button does it on a model 1. You just have to time it right so you don't either not put it into test mode or do and throw it straight into the first test channel. It displays mode, serial and Flashcode normally.
So there's the answer for the OP. Put it into test mode and if the 4th digit of the model number (M01
W) is a W then you have a 900 radio.
