MODAT TX Audio Issues

I have a UHF XTS3000 M1 with latest firm and DSP programmed with R05.03.00. It has come to my attention that on the personalities that I have MODAT enabled on the TX audio is very muffly and basey. This is only on the channels that have MODAT enabled. On all the other channels the TX audio sounds fine and as it should. For whatever reason using MODAT seems to bring some audio muffling characteristics with it. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a way around it? Is there some setting I'm possibly overlooking in the CPS or Tuner?

Do you have the transmit emphasis enabled on the affected channels?

I'll have to double-check but I believe I have TX emphasis enabled on all the channels including the MODAT ones. I'll check it out.

This is the reason I keep one 1Meg radio at old 512k firmware, to run MODAT and still sound good to piss off the hams that complain about MDC. Don't like MDC, try MODAT then

Tell me about it. By the way I did check the radio last night and TX emphasis is enabled on the MODAT channels. Sounds like I'll just have to deal with the muffled sound when using MODAT. Thanks for the help.
