My boss thinks its safe for him to use an impress lion ht1250 battery in his shiny new xts 1500. I advised him not to since if it breaks he would be paying a hefty price to fix and/or to replace it. Not to mention county oem's foot up his behind. He thinks just because it turns ons and transmits hes fine. I just want to make sure hes not making an ill informed decision and breaks his new radio. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Well per Motorola, starting at Host R11.00.00, the Professional Series slimline (HNN9013) battery is certified for use on XTS2500/1500, PR/MT1500 radios. Even though the battery in question is not the 9013, you can still use a pro series battery on the XTS1500 without issue..

Would I get the same battery life from a 1250 lithium impress battery as 15/2500 lithium impress battery.

If both are the same mAh, then sure I don't see why not..

They will wsap in the field but won't drop in the charger. At least all the HT1250 batteries we have will not fit into an IMPRESS or XTS2500 desk charger

Thats funny because I used my HT1250 battery on my XTS2500 and when I go to TX it does the low battery beep and the led blinks. Go figure?
