Motorola IMPRES battery chargers

Post by heysoosejk »

My vessel has three impres battery chargers for the xts5000 batteries. I've had all three switched out with brand new ones and within a month or two, they no longer or have trouble charging the batteries we have. I have to sit and play with the battery's seating in order just to get a light to come, sometimes it doesn't come on at all. This causes problems because we use the handhelds 24 hours a day, and the life of the batteries is suffering because of these chargers. I've checked the fuses on the slots that don't work at all and they are still good. Any ideas?

Try cleaning the contacts on both the batteries and in the charger. We had a similar issue with our HT1000 radios. The guys would get them very dirty and they wouldn't charge unless you play around with them. After cleaning the contacts with a small alcohol wipe it was fine. Its worth a shot.
