Remote Head Kits for Maxtrac 300s

Post by W1HVN »

Does anyone know if Remote Head Kits are still available for the Maxtrac 300s? If not from /\/\ then is there an aftermarket entity making them?

Thanks

I've got a box full of the radio side piece, but I'd have to look for the control head side. Has 25 pin D sub connector. These were called a Quick Mount from Valley Industrial. Email me if interested...

Hello:
The Maxtrac remote cable was the same 25 pin cable used on the older computers.
Should be able to find them at computer shops or ebay but just longer length.
Also the postee above that said they had back pieces but not the control head peices.
FYI = You can easily modify the back piece to work up front as they have the extra relay that can be eliminated as i recall.

The ones using the ribbon cable are original Motorola kits for the GM-300 radios, they had molded plastic cases. The ones using 25 pin "D" connectors and having metal cases were made by QuickMount for both the GM-300 and Maxtrac (diffrent models required for each radio)

I do not think either one is still avaiable new anymore
Cause Motorola said so that's why

Hello:
No the GM300 flat cable will not work on the Maxtrac remote head.
The Maxtrac cable uses a computer DB25 conector rather than the flat plastic ends used on the GM300.
However you could get the matching DB25 ends and put them on the GM300 flat ribbon and then be able to use the flat length of cable you have.
Radio shack for the DB25 ends come to mind.
If it would help anyone i can assemble a round cable with DB25 ends to use on the Maxtrac in eigther 15 or 19 foot length.
$25.00 with the shipping included as long as your in the USA.
If anyone needs a 8 foot factory flat ribbon cable for the GM300 - I have one new in inventory also.

it is apparent the remote kits i have are for the gm 300. they are set up for the flat ribbon cable. i guess it is time to list them for sale as i have no use for them.
