So, as usual, I just want to verify some knowledge:

If there is an LTR Passport system, I cannot take a radio like the HT1250LS and program one site in?

Basically there is no way for an LS (not LS+) to work on passport, correct?

I think so. Even if you got an LS+, I am pretty sure it would affiliate to the Passport system, and you would run the risk of stun\kill.

Correct. Although Passport is 'LTR-like' in the respect that is doesn't use a dedicated control channel, it really is a much different beast...multi-site capability is only one difference. I know of customers with single Passport site systems because they needed some of the "SmartNet" style features (ID/ESN validation, select call, queing, etc) at a reasonable price. Those features simply aren't offered with LTR.

Nowadays, I'd steer more towards the Kenwood Nexedge trunked offering...Passport is still slow & buggy by comparison, even after years of development.

No illegal acti vity here. Just trying to get the most radios possible.
