Allowable deviation on 800

Post by W1HVN »

Just want to clarify my understanding of the current and near future plan for NFM

specifically on 800:

normal fm deviation is still allowable for 800? NFM mandate only for 512MHz and below and on 700MHz? I might have an incorrect understanding.

Looking to put 800 Maxtrac to work on the band.

Thanks

Non-NPSPAC 800 is 5KHZ and NPSPAC is typicially 4KHZ, but is subject to local Regional Coordinating Body requirements.
Because the Maxtrac is not a NPSPAC compliant radio is should do 5KHz no matter where it is.

Just an FYI...800 MHz isn't affected by the 2013 narrowbanding requirement.
