Hi!

Need some help from expert out there...

I owned a XTS5000 800Mhz. I get myself a VHF board from Ebay.
Already success installed the VHF board. But, when read the radio
using CPS, it still show same configuration as my previous 800Mhz board.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

My guess is you got a RF board and swapped that out. You would also need to change the controller or vocon/vocoder to one for a VHF with the correct model and flash that you want.

Changing the RF board does not change the brains of the controller. If you want a VHF 5000 I would look for a complete one.

Hi

You are right. I just simply swap the RF board.

Now what else should I do to make it work?

Thanks

If I am reading between the lines here, are you trying to make your 800 MHz radio
into a VHF radio? It isn't worth the effort. You would have to change all the guts
out. Be much better off in just going out and finding a different radio.

Besides if you parts out a radio, your still stuck with trying to do a full alignment on
the radio. Unless you have the test equipment and software, your going to be SOL.

You will need to blow in all new codeplug information using special tools that are not readily available. Unfortunately, the best answer is to just sell it and purchase a Vhf unit with the specs you desire.
