HT750 Power Programming

I took over a site that has about 30+ HT750s inside bus stop Motorola A1 Solar Call boxes. All of the HT750's talk through a repeater and the farthest one is only about 1/4 mile out. I want to program them to power on AT low power. I know it says that it can't be done, but I vaguely remember reading somewhere a trick.. like you replace the front cover with a keypad cover? display cover? , something like that and it allows you to program it to power on at low power...then you can replace the cover - back to a plain front cover and the radio still powers on at low power and ignores the fact that the other cover is gone? Anyone ? Thanks !!

Have you tried the following programming option? In CPS, open the conventional personality, select the "options" tab, and then set Tx Power Level to "low".

Hi John,

Thanks for the reply. Yes, that was the first place I went, however, the only option under power is HIGH. No LOW power option appears in the pull-down selections. That was what I was trying to say above, that I vaguely remember some trick to get LOW to appear. I remember that you had to change front covers on one radio, then you can set the low power, then save the CP and use it to program other radios.

How old are these units and what is the firmware version? This makes a huge difference when dealing with certain features in the radio. Far as I know the high/low setting under options for the individual personalities is the only way to change the power out through programming.

Course, this isn't my favorite idea but you could consider just tuning down the power level to something more to your liking.

2005 radios. H25KDC9AA2

First one I was trying said Firmware Version: Unknown

Second one said Firmware Version: R05.09.02

---------------------------

I may have found it - the first one had the top soft button set for power high/low .. which left the setting in Options as High (only) with NO low setting.

Once I removed the soft ket setting, low and high appeared in Options.

I will try the others tomorrow -

Thanks everyone.
