XTS 5000 Power Up Tone

I have an XTS5K with the 5089B remote mic. Prevuiosly when I turned the radio on, I would hear the tone on the radio and then when the mic finished powering up I would hear another tone in my earpiece. I decided to experiment with Radio locked to RSM, and found out that is was a REALLY bad idea for me. Guess it works for some. After I changed the settings back, I noticed that I dont get the power up tone in the mic anymore. I get one for the radio, but not the mic. Any suggestions?
