A friend of mine just got a MCS2000 model 3 110 watt UHF and plugged in a Maxtrac mic, soon as he plugged it in the display is gone. The radio receives but will not TX and no display at all.
Can't read the radio.Anyone know what he blew ?

Try checking the voltages.

you blew a resistor in the control head if I remember right. you can still read and write to the radio from the big 25 pin on the bottom of the radio. be best to just flat rate the head in for service
