Its been a while since I had a remote mount installed. I have one for my cdm1550. I got one 12 ribbon with blue ends, radio base part, control head back part and a network cable and the 12 ribbon from the original base to control hear with blue stripes on both ends and a red dot on the back sie of one end.

Can anybody refresh me on how to install it correctly.

Thanks in advance!

your standard 8 conductor network cable won't work correctly, you need the 10 conductor

8 conductor works, the outer 2 pins are for handset audio so unless you're using that you don't need them.

The ribbon cables should have a dot on one side of each end, and the sockets have a "0" next to them either on the circuit board or the chassis on the radio one. The cables get connected with the dot on the same side as the "0".

You need to make sure the control head board is seated properly in the housing, it only stays in with a couple of little tabs and it can pop out when you're putting the back onto the head, that can make parts of the display not show up. I find it helps to squeeze the control head housing slightly while pressing the back into it.
