Ok sorry guys, I know this has been visited, however I was very confused on the answers.

I have a VHF Astro Spectra (WITH THE CORRECT FLASH CODE, I HAVE THE OPTIONS) I have a VRS-750 UHF they are connected and hooked up.

I have not done any programming as of yet. I need to change the frequency. I would like to know what cable is needed to program the VRS-750 and What software?? From reading (BELWO, SO CONFUSED), I need the Astro 25 Mobile CPS (which I have), however I am confused with the directions I read in another post (copy below). Can someone explain the steps for me Plain.. I do not want to turn the astro spectra into a brick, or the VRS.. Thanks in advance..

THIS WAS THE POST THAT CONFUSED ME
"First you will need a VHF Astro-Spectra and the appropriate cable. The VRS750 is not for a Spectra, you need a plain VRS for that.
Once you have it connected to the Astro-Spectra you can program it from the codeplug read from the Astro-Spectra with the Astro Mobile CPS.Having a Blackberry on NEXTEL is like putting a Chevette engine in a Corvette - it's still a 'vette, right?

Joe,

If the Astro Spectra is the same as the XTL series, all the programming is done in the Astro Spectra software. Read your radio with the CPS and there should be a tab for "VRS" (or similar). All of the frequency, PL and settings for the VRS are programmed through the mobile radio. In fact, I believe the VRS750 is not ever really "programmed"... it receieves the info from the Astro Spectra each time the VRS function is activated.

Hope this helps!

Jim
