GM300 Programming Questions

Hello Group,

Working with a Motorola Radius GM300 with a model number of M43GMC29C2AA. Currently it has 15 enabled modes, but when i try to enter in an additional mode to make a total of 16 modes, I get errors and when i attempt to continue with programming the radio after all the prompts I get a "P5" showing up in the display window and the radio no longer works. And in order to get it working again I have to write to the radio a copy of the archived or code plug that was saved earlier. What does this P5 mean guys, and how many total modes or channels can this model radio handle? Somewhere I read that a GM300 was a 16 channel radio but for some reason I cannot program this radio otherwise. Maybe I have the wrong software? Im using Americas Radius GM300 Version R05.00.02 Dated Feb 14th 1995.

Also when I try to write to the radio I get an error message saying "Model Definintion File Not Found. Insert Disk Press F2 to Continue." Anyone know why it tells me this and where i can find this file?

Thanks much

Doug

The model number is for a 16 ch 40 watt 146-174 VHF radio. The code plug information in the radio may be wrong. The MDF file is the model definition file and IS part of the GM300 RSS.

The radio may have been programmed with a hacked RSS, lots of that out there.

You may have hacked RSS.

It's possible that it's my software, but unfortunetly it's the only copy I have.

Will, Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. I obtained a different copy of the software and all my problems went away. Must have been a bad copy or something. Thank you for the advice. Doug
