Astro Spectra Firmware Upgrade fails on HP but MID works?

I have been doing astro spectra upgrades for a long time now. Suddenly I get 100 percent failure rates when doing high power radios. The upgrade gets to the point of flashing the radio (block 16) and after some time comes back with a upgrade failed message. I can take the same exact setup and put it on a remote mount mid power drawer and get successful upgrading everytime. This is NOT isolated to one high power drawer. I have tried 3. The radio sometimes recovers from the failure or I have gotten DSP errors of 2/80 or 2/81. I put the affected vocon in the mid power radio and recovered it just fine.
Any ideas? I am using the same exact hardware in each scenario.

For those that looked at this already, I tried a diff. bench power supply and it worked just fine now. Not sure why the power supply would make a difference.

I had similar issues, except I couldn't align high-power radios. Discovered one of the filter caps in my supply was gone... at a few amps, it wasn't a big problem. Stick a 30-amp load on it and there was more AC than DC. Bad Things happened.
Check your supply output with an o-scope, idle and under load. I bet you find an AC component.

I could check the supply but I can't see why the radio would draw extra amps just upgrading the firmware. I'll just remember not to use that one.
