Motorola MTS2000 radio problems

I have 2 MTS2000 which now do not work!
The first one, turns on, but shows nothing on the LCD (I know it powers on due to the self test LED (green) powers up) but it transmits to an extent but doesn't transmit my voice or any sound when the PTT is pushed
the other radios show signs that the radio is transmitting but none of them recieve a signal of my voice!
The second radio, doesn't power on at all! When it did work for a short time, the radio was in a trunked mode and as I don't have the system key it wouldn't allow me to remove the channels and just kept coming up with a 1 or I CSQ on the LCD. One thing I noticed, was that compared to the other radios there wasn't many options avaliable to program the radio (the radio software was very old compared to the other 4 radios!)
Can you give me some help/advice on this matter please?
