Hi

I want to connect VHF and UHF repeaters so that a portable/mobile transmits in vhf so that the main VHF/UHF Repeaters can link to the 3 others VHF Repeaters via UHF GM160 Radio and a VHF radio in other side can communicate with the first portable/mobile.

*** MAIN REPEATER is composed with 1 VHF GR500(2 GM160) and 1UHF GR500(2 GM160).
*** AUXILIARY REPEATERS are composed with a VHF GR500(2 GM160) and 1 UHF GM160.

I have no rick module

Please How can i cable the main and the auxialiary repeaters.

You really need some electronics between the different boxes so you can control the audio levels. The electronics
should also have some timers built in to control the duration of the connections. This is used to prevent a lockup
of all the radios concerned. Many people just refuse to set to "on" the TIME OUT TIMER for the TX in the software.

Good morning Said. That is a very nice link you provided. However, it only inverts COR from the rcvr to allow PTT into the xmit, and provides a TOT (time out timer). There are no audio level controls. The author simply connected rx out to tx in, and hoped for the best. There is also no provision to connect a third radio. You could build on the design adding a third radio. You would need to add circuits to connect the audio to the correct pins. Unfortunately, I do not know of a product you use to accomplish that.

Didn't Will put together a circuit board some time back that would fill this application. Will may read this and jump in.

Because of all the lumpy-bumps we have around here, I've seen people get very creative netting several UHF repeaters with VHF simplex links so they could cover large areas "cellular" style for special events. They use triple Maxtracs and a regular RIC. But, I never paid attention to the modifications they did to the cables and RIC to see how they did it.

We Mcguivered some trunking channels to simplex 800 stations during rebanding at some of the outlying fill sites as a temporary solution while freqs were changed in the primary areas. Worked fine, and not hard to figure out.

Bil_G i added to the HB9VBA Circuit the Repeat Audio Control used in the Motorola Rick: 4.7k ajustable,resistor and capacitor.
Yes i want that the VHF portable be able to be caught in a large area.
Will i get a good modulation after it pass through 3 Repeaters ???

That will work with the addition of a 2.2 K resistor and a 2uF capacitor in series with the RX audio going to the transmitter.

Yes I did build a Repeater Interface Module back a few years ago. I do not build them anymore because of the cost of labor involved in the wiring and assembly, that make the price to high for most applications.

As i writed before i added the audio control as made in the Motorola Rick in the HB9VBA Circuit:
4.7k ajustable,1.5k resistor and a 2.2u capacitor .
Hope will do the job nicely.
If someone has a better idea or a schematic pse help.
