Dan,
I happen to own a MRTI and there are a limited amount of parameters that can be changed by a user. This is done by jumping some pins on the board and using a DTMF telephone to toggle features on and off, and make settings. You can e-mail me for details.

I have a MRTI 2000 that I want to interface into my repeater. The repeater uses a RIC with 2 GM300's. Anyone have any ideas on how to do this. I have looked through the manual, but it does not have information about my specific repeater setup. There is a 16pin connection on the MRTI that I connected to the 16pin Accessory port on the RIC, but had no luck. Maybe there is some programming issues? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

The Marti2000 requires its own software to program the parrimiters. I have the manual on it and you can NOT just plug it in. You have to have the correct cable or make up the correct cable to be able to use it with the Motorola Repeater Interface Communications Kit. I can look it up if you need.

That would be great. I hooked it up to the 16 pin interface with a standard 16pin cable that you would use from a radio to the RIC. I have a (not very good) copy of the manual, and can not find anywhere in it where it shows setup parameters for my configuration. It shows info for MSF5000, Mitrek, Micor, and even Maxtrac, but no RIC or GM series. I have RSS and programming cable for the MRTI also. Any programming tips of wiring details are greatly appreciated.

Danger Danger, the manuf. of the Marti2000 stressed the importantce of using REAL DOS 6.xx only to program the Marti2000. They stated that the dreaded windows 9x, 2k ect; WILL CORRUPT THE CODE PLUG!!!
I will get a hookup out to you ASAP.

Ok, thanks for the warning. I have only messed with the programming using an old 286 laptop with DOS on it. To be honest, I did not see much radio configuration in the MARTI RSS. Mostly call parameters, and user settings.

Forgive me if this is a naive question... I've never used a MARTI and folks that have aren't usually happy. With all the fully featured interconnects now available as surplus on e-bay for 1 or 2 hundred dollars, what motivates you to get one of the MARTI units up and running. Seems like a programming pain.... OK repeater controllers like the Zetron 48B repeater manager are also a pain to program, but at least it is a text based interface. Is there something the MARTI's do that others don't?

Besides, that's $100-200 that I don't have to spend. I've got the MARTI and it is becoming more of a battle of wits and determination now. Will, any new help/info for me?
