A kind of cool feature, you can hold the side button below the PTT for approx. 3sec and it will invert the top display.

Like you've been able to do on top-display Jedi radios for years?

I guess when you have not played with the older radios you wouldn't have known.

Heck, I had a Vertex VX-150 that would do that, and that was six or seven years ago. Problem was that the display on the Vertex, like the APX's display, was pretty small and hard to read when you looked down at your belt where the radio was. Granted, the APX is a shade better as to size, but the "real" display on the back (or is it the front?) of the radio beats 'em all.

You could see the top of your radio hanging on your belt?? I'm surprised....

For that kind of money, it had better do a LOT more than wash dishes, if you know what I mean....

Anybody seen the Tetris app for the APX yet?
There must be a use for a color screen the size of an iPad.......

Regarding the APX's screen, I've never even seen an APX "live and in person" yet.
Can't wait to get my hands on one, and see what she can do. I have a BIG feeling that most LEA's around here will not be getting these anytime soon. Heck, as far as I know, the CT State Police still have the old XTS3000's.
If it's anything better than the screen on my MTS/MT2000's (which it looks WORLDS better) than I may just have to sell a few of my cars to get one hahaha.

Its basically a large color LCD screen about the size of your average cell phone screen.
Fully graphics capable, too.

We have two demos, but who wants an 800/vhf radio anyway? Pretty useless hereabouts when everything on 800 is EDACS.
I am waiting for the UHF/VHF version.

What are you waiting for, they already exists. Several were for sale at Dayton this year for $2600 - $2900.

The display is quite nice. In fact, the radio overall is quite nice. GREAT audio clarity, compact, fits well on a belt when used with the "carrier", the public safety speaker/mic has an odd looking antenna tho. I like the radio. As they are purchasing new radios here in my area that is what they are buying. I have played with a few of them here as our police and sheriff department are both using them here in my area. I'm impressed with the radio, just from the little bit that I've played with them.

Not being anywhere within driving distance of Dayton, I have to wait until we order one for a demo or pay more for it.
