xts3000 Firmware question

Hello i need do upgrade my firmware in my xts3000 mod3 vhf how do i do this is this what th xts astro tuner is for ?
The tuner program is for tuning the radio.
You can get the radio's firmware upgraded by a Motorola shop at a cost of between $75 and $100
last I heard.
