Does anyone have info on the Motorola MDT 9100 units? I would like to know how they are hooked up to the Spectra and if the Spectra needs a special part for it to work. Also is it possible to program 2 units to talk to each other? Thank you.

Hello.
Yes,& yes,sort of.
Yes, the 9100 needs a spectra,I have one with harness, complete, 800 MHz, and yes, one can be made to "talk" to another, the easy way, simplex the radio, you then must send the other unit's ID, mine have followed the pattern of B6AD, B6A1, etc, when you first turn it on, it should display the ID, you can also make it display this by putting it on command line, and type, what else ID.
other commands.
DL del logon
RF toggle radio on/off
FI file listing
RE release from que
ER list error file
This should be enough to let you configure the display to the radio
Thank You.

Hello.
The 9100-11 has a BNC connection on the left side, this is for a heads-up display.
The unit MUST be connected to a correctly configured radio to enter service menu, or have a " null modem ".
The service manual must have been written by gerbals, I had a chance to read one, there is an option for a RF deck, there will be a multi-pin cumputer style connecter held on with 2 thumb screws on each side, D style connection that is the interface for the RF unit as well as holding the 2 together, if not, there will simply be a D connection, this goes via cable to a spectra, or other radio.
Service menu looks to be the same for 9100-10 and 9100-11, although I need to find out more, because of WTC / pentagon, everybody is edgy, perhaps wait a month or 2 and I can find what you need.
