Looking to put an XTS5000 Model 1 case on an XTS3000 Model 1 radio. I figured if I use the original XTS3k vol/audio/channel electronics, being that the chassis is the same on both radios, the 5k case should fit the 3k radio. Is it possible? I liked the look of the 5k case better

. I could just save the hassle and get a 5k radio, but I don't have the extra cash at the moment.

Looks the same but isnt..The PTT button is different

Correct, all the side buttons and the PTT on a 5K are flex controlled. The 3K has actual push buttons on the housing.
