Which FPP radio to buy?

Hello. Down the road I intend to buy a FPP UHF radio that I intend to use 95% of the time on the UHF ham band. Analog & IMBE low UHF split. So which is the better radio? Is the 5000 the top of the line, & the 2500 a more economical model. I've read where the 2500 can't have a hi/low power switch or menu icon. Is this true? I like to use low power if I'm close enough to the repeater to extend battery life. So I need to be able to flip a switch to go to low power like I can on my MTS 2000, or Astro Saber. I don't have any accessories for either model, so that isn't a factor. So which is the better radio? Thanks. GARY N4KVE

The HT1550xls is FPP with hi/low power selectability, but analog only. It's not a bad HT, much smaller & lighter than my XTS5000, and can be had for less than $400 on the used market. Honestly though, if the budget allows, and you're looking for digital, grab a rock solid XTS5K.
Just my .02 worth.......

Yes. But keep in mind QCII and MDC properties are not keypad programmable, you need to use the CPS...

Thanks for all the replies here. I did pick up a 5000 from one of the guys on this forum. A gorgeous radio, & FPP is real sweet. Sort of like a 3000 on steroids.
