Disassembly of Genesis MTVA (MT1000, HT600, etc)

Post by Victor Xray »

I have a NTN5612A Genesis MTVA that has dirty charging terminals and at least 1 packing peanut floating around inside.

How in the heck do you disassemble this MTVA? I cannot find any surface screws or overlapping latching tabs on the outside of this unit.

It looks like this one

I used to repair Genesis portables at the Radio Service Center in the 90s. MTVAs are a pain to dissassemble. It feels like you are breaking them everytime you open them. Snap-together construction.
