HT1000 Dead LED

Post by maxkelley_kc2spy »

I have an HT1000 that has a seemingly dead LED... No light up on power-on, RX, TX, and scan program (what the user needs!). Think it's as simple as a dead LED, or is this part of a bigger problem?

Check your programming, there is an option to disable the LED.

Checked that, turned out to be a bad flex... Very brittle plastic connectors, too! The insertion levers for the flex on those plastic connectors actually broke in half when trying to remove them.

Yeah, I realize that, and checked it in the RSS. The LED was enabled on receive, TX, and for low battery warnings, and showed on none of them. However, when I opened the radio, I saw that the flex was beginning to rip, and had some corroded pads. I'm thinking it's probably the latter that caused it :)
