CP185 6.25khz problem

I am trying to program 154.0025 and 156.0825 into a bunch of new VHF CP185. The software is not letting enter these frequencies in either wide or narroband. The closest I can get is 154.0125 and 156.08125. What the heck? I am going to try to reverse the codeplug and hex edit it, but I have my doubts, FatBoy.

I found this:

http://www.motorola.com/staticfiles/Bus ... ocaleId=33

Looks to me as if it's strictly a 12.5 kHz radio, which complies with narrowbanding, but can not be set to 6.25 kHz, only 12.5 kHz splits.

Well - unless i misunderstood something the new channel step size for vhf-hi band
is 7.5 Khz, not 6.25 Khz, and that is only for some specific portions of the band,
not the entire 136-174 Mhz range.

Apparently the firmware for this model has not included that yet and seems a
bit premature for it to.

The new channel step size of 6.25 Khz is for the UHF band.

Someone correct me if I am in error.

Per Motorola,
frequency must be evenly divisable by 6.25khz or 5khz. Firmware issue. Motorola is not interested in fixing it. Sucks, just bought a bunch of these for the rental fleet. FatBoy.

Continued issues:

-radio defaults to CH001 type display after programming, you have to enable a button to change it to display the assigned channel name.
-radio has no autoscan type function. Must manually turn scan on (not a big issue).
-radio disables scan after a channel change, or said a different way, the user must re-enable scan after changing channel on the channel selector (PITA).

Motorola again says they are not interested in "fixing" these issues. FatBoy

Can you warp the frequency in the radio to get you closer to your desired frequency?

I could for the 1 channel, but then the customers 15 other channels would not be happy. I was really hoping to not be the guinea pig on the newer stuff. After my experience with the HT/CDM line, then Mototrbo, now this? Cannot wait to get into the XTS/XTL lines !!!! FatBoy

If you want to try the warp idea, first look at all your other frequencies. If they can be programmed 2.5kc off your golden. Been doing that to all our MASTR III bases.
