In the X9000 RSS, what does the "extender" option under user modes section do?
The outstanding help file simply notes that it is almost always used, except in cases where it is not used
Thanks!

extender is Motorola's language for the Noise Blanker needed on Lo Band radios to reducce interference on the channel. The setting just enables or disables the circuit.

The "Extender", circa 1958, is an AM receiver and noise detector opperating on a frequency near the radio's receive frequency that "listens" for impulse noise and then blanks the Hi IF stage reducing the impulse noise in the FM receiver. If the noise detector senses a carrier it disables the muting of the receiver's IF stage.
Older radios had an ON - Off switch on the control head, Maxtracs and Radius low band radios have the "Extender" disable in the Monitor button long press.

Thanks for the information!
I tried using the "search" feature, but all I got were reccomendations for Will's module.
