DIU 3000 ADP ?

I've been getting some conflicting answers about ADP in the DIU 3k. We have a MCC5500 coupled to a DIU 3k for transmitter steering 3 quantars. Can the DIU do ADP encryption? I sure it must be hardware unlike the astro subscriber units we use that are all software based. Do I just need a board or firmware also? I'm also guessing we will need a keyloader (DAMN!)

Thanks in advance

You will need a T6721 DIU Crypto Module + CA00147AA Basic Software + CA00274AA Add ADP encryption.

Used to be around $600.

And yes, you will need a keyloader.

Hi all!

How these software upgrade packages looks like? I mean CA00147AA and CA00274AA.

1. It's software on CD for RSS? It's PCIMCIA cards for KVL? Somethhing else?
2. Are they linked with HW S/N or can be applicated to any hardware?

Assuming DIU crypto hybrids are upgraded the same way subscribers are they would come as a PCMCIA card for a KVL3000+ and a CD-ROM for a KVL4000. They might not be field-upgradeable however.

Thanks! But how about upgrades P/Ns? I've never seen them! Only ADD: options suitable for new hardware orders.

For MOTOFAN:
If your DIU does not already include some form of encryption, follow XMO's instructions posted above. If yours DOES already have an encryption option, but it's not the type you want, you need to buy an upgrade kit for the DIU3000 as a main line item, then add the options for field upgrade and specific encryption type as options to it. You can have multiple encryption modes in a single DIU (a mixture of DES, AES, and ADP for example).
