Astro Spectra - Codeplug too new!

Hi guys... I have a dashmount Astro Spectra which, when read with Astro RSS, claims that the codeplug in the radio is newer than it can support. Is this because it was perhaps last programmed with Astro CPS or something?

How would I get around this so I can use Astro RSS, which is the only thing I have.

Thanks!

Short answer: No can do, you need Astro Mobile CPS.

Long answer: The structure of the codeplug residing in the radio is changed as it is read and wrote with successively newer versions of programming software, sometimes to add new features without needing a firmware uplift, other times because the software engineers just came up with a better way of doing something. Even if you could somehow modify RSS 9.05 to ignore the bit in the codeplug denoting last-wrote-with software version there would be no guarantee it would be able to successfully unpack it - or not brick the radio when writing it back in.

Couldn't just simply overwrite it with an Astro RSS codeplug?

Yes, or clone another DOS archive (same flash, and model).

Did you get this taken care of?

No, not sure where I would find another codeplug with same model # and flashcode! It's a T99DX+145W_ASTRO with a 000001-00200-5 flashcode. A4 rotary head!
