Hello, what batteries are you guys using for the Saber series? What is the best place to look if I wanted to buy a few? I just bought one on ebay (2700 mah) and its so tight, I cannot get it on. Tried it on several radios.

Thanks

Tight (or loose) fitting Saber batteries are common with aftermarket units. You can try slightly loosening or tightening the spanner screws on the battery but it usually doesn't help much.

I am currently using a 1900 mAh Li-Ion battery from Cut-Rate Batteries which is about two inches high and costs about $72 plus shipping. I believe it's the same battery as the Motorola 8118 that sells for a lot more. You'll need a tri-chem charger if you use these units.

IMO, always use genuine Motorola batteries. You can never go wrong with OEM batteries. They last the longest, and fit the radios the best.
