I have a Saber I UHF with a 6D core which does not transfer to the antenna on the PS speaker/mic when the speaker/mic is connected. (The speaker/mic works okay on other Sabers.) The RF is definitely there, because with the radio's normal antenna it will peg the FS meter from across the room, but with the spkr/mic connected neither antenna is radiating. I suspect either or both U201 and U203 from reading the circuit, but maybe someone can give me some guidance before I start trying to fix it. I should add that the same problem happens with the radio in an SVA and the SVA connected to a Bird 43 - - no output - - only a tiny amount of RF. The radio codes as an H44, by the way.
All help and suggestions are appreciated.

Hi:
Without seeing the radio, this is only a
suggestion as I have had the same problem
many times. For what ever reason the " Ant
transfere" Module does die from time to time.
I suspect the failure is a result of a bad /
or no antenna while transmitting. Works OK
in Normal Mode, just will not work in a SVA
or Public Saftey Mic....Also, you should check to see if the Antenna Contacts are Nice
and clean ( not pitted or dirty )

Monty: Thanks for the reply. I tried burnishing the antenna contacts on the radio last night but it didn't help. Is the transfer module plugged in, or is it soldered in? The first way I'll fix it, the second way I'll just live with the problem.

The Module used in the Antenna
Control circuit plugs into the
main board. Pretty easy to replace
