I have a bunch of Radius M1225 radios in my shop. I need to use the AARMN4026B DTMF microphones with these radios for a small project I'm working on, but naturally, they don't work. These DTMF mics work with CDM750s, but I don't have those radios handy, and I can't really go buy one for this project.
Also, there is no info on my DTMF mic on the batlabs pages... unless its the same as another model DTMF mic.
My questions are these:
Is the DTMF tone chip in the mic?
If so, then it seems to me that the reason they don't work is most likely a pinout issue. I can make an RJ45 jack and plug to fix this if I can figure out what goes to what.
Does anybody have the pinout info for both the CDM750 and the Radius for the mic input. I searched, and found for one, but not the other.
Can these DTMF mics be adapted (rewired, whatever) to work with a Radius radio? Is there any reason this won't work (say, if the DTMF chip was actually in the radio and not the mic).

Re: Radius DTMF question
Mic RMN5029A is for the CM radios and I think would work on a M1225. The CDM mics are different. CDM's may generate the DTMF in the radio.

MMmyyeeaah... but I was hoping for an easy solution that didn't involve me blowing $150 on something I would use for three days.arlojanis wrote:Mic RMN5029A is for the CM radios and I think would work on a M1225. The CDM mics are different. CDM's may generate the DTMF in the radio.
Re: Radius DTMF question
Yes - the 4026 keypad mic is just a keypad with a serial encoder. The radio generates DTMF based on the switch closure of the button pressed relayed over the data bus in the 10 pin RJ. In my experience it won't even power up in any radio except the CDM series. PTT and mic work in a Maxtrac. The keypad is completely non-functional.
