Astro Saber 1

Post by Mitty »

Hello everyone,
In will shortly be getting two Astro Saber 1 radios in VHF. I've never handled or played with these radios and am new to Motorola's way of doing things, so I might ask a few stupid questions:
* How do I determine which rss version will work with my radios? Is it true that XTS3000 rss will work as well ?
* Can these radios do conventional analoge with ctcss (PL) ?
* Can an Astro Saber 1 be converted into 3 ?
Thanks !

It's a CPS, not an RSS, and the AS and XTS3K radios program with the same CPS which I believe the latest is V 5.03.

All AS and XTS radios do conventional analog with CTCSS or DPL.

* Can an Astro Saber 1 be converted into 3 ?
Yes. You need the 3 case, the display with cable, and a person or shop to do the software upgrade for you.

Thank you for your information Tom !
May I ask if Astro Sabers are CPS version particular?
If they are , how will I know which version is correct ?
