Tactical Inhibit/Stun

Hi Guys,
I am just doing some reading up on the Tactical Inhibit/Stun features that are available in te ASTRO25 line. Say radio A has tactical inhibit, and radio B doesn't. Is it still possible for radio A to inhibit B or is it require in all radios in a fleet?

You probably need to read some more. The inhibit is normally sent from the dispatch console.

Tactical Inhibit/Stun can be done from radio to radio WITHOUT A DISPATCH CONSOLE but all radio need to have option H02 in the flashcode and have this option enabled in CPS with the soft buttons "Stun" "Kill" this can only be done with ibutton/advanced system key.

Tactical Inhibit is done from radio to radio.
I am more than aware of the differences.

Matt you'll remember our discussion on SEK/KEK/TEKs, tactical inhibit (TI) normally relies on having a common valid SEK to encrypt the session signaling. The theory is that if radio B has no keys you can't TI it but that doesn't matter as it's no threat.
However I'm pretty certain you could use TI features in clear mode but it would be of little value.
The ASTRO system can only be direct and must be packet data capable. The TI function is set up using the ASTRO Call mechanism but still requires packet data. Each participating radio must be enabled for TI.
Radios given the ability to initiate TI must be so enabled. If enabled the TI screen usually requires a unique TI password and then you select the unit ID by direct entry or selecting from the call list. You kill your own radio in the usual way.
So in summary for TI to work all participating radio must be similarly set-up and (usually) keyed, as you would expect.

If one carried around a dispatch console in their rucksack, they wouldn't be very tactical- now would they?
Anyway, check this out from the help file:
Tactical Inhibit
(Display & Menu, Radio Lock / Tactical Inhibit)
Enables Tactical Inhibit Stun and Kill features on a radio wide basis. These Tactical Inhibit features may be password protected with the Tactical Inhibit Encode Password field.
The "STUN" and/or "KILL" menu items selections must be CPS-defined in order for the radio-user to have access to these features.
Tactical Inhibit Stun Encode and/or Tactical Inhibit Kill Encode, and/or Tactical Inhibit Stun Decode, and/or Tactical Inhibit Kill Decode must also be CPS-defined on per Conventional Personality basis.
ACCESSED ONLY:
When an Advanced Conventional Key (ACK) is loaded in the CPS (as can be seen from the System Key Report) and when the radio is model/option capable.
In order to write the codeplug to the radio, an ACK loaded in the CPS (as can be seen from the System Key Report) must be exact an match to the ACK currently defined in the ASTRO Configuration's Conventional Customer ID field.

Yeah I've read it - and it still doesn't answer the question - It's saying you need an Advanced Conventional Key (ACK) to SEND the kill command.
My question is what is required on the receiving radio to support this

Correction, Tactical "stun" and "kill" are Conventional only features, therefore needs a Advanced Conventional Key to access in CPS.

Matt,
It's simple, If you had two radio's and one was to send a kill or stun, It's encrypted the same as voice.
You can kill any radio if you know the ID ( Astro ID in astro systems) and the radio is loaded with the same key. It's given about CPS & Flash code etc. As per normal.
But that's the nut's and bolt's to it.
The key doesn't have to be key 1 it can be key 48 if you wish.
